We are pleased to announce the merger of the Australian Institute of Navigation (AIN) and the International Global Navigation Satellite Systems (IGNSS) Association Incorporated.

With a distinguished history spanning 76 years, AIN is a proud member of the International Institutes of Navigation which includes, for instance, the United States Institute of Navigation and the Royal Institute of Navigation. The IGNSS Association Incorporated have run international conferences for over 30 years tracking the latest advances in satellite positioning and attracting world class speakers and delegates.

These esteemed organisations have made significant contributions to advancing Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) research, development, and practice throughout the decades.

PNT2026, previously delivered under the highly regarded banner of the IGNSS Conference Series, will now be officially hosted by AIN, organised by the AIN’s new PNT Sub-Committee, led by:

Prof. Andrew Dempster: Vice-President of AIN & Chair of the PNT Sub-Committee
A/Prof. Craig Roberts: Deputy Secretary of AIN & Secretary of the PNT Sub-Committee
Prof. Allison Kealy: Deputy Treasurer of AIN & Treasurer of the PNT Sub-Committee

The event will build on the success of IGNSS 2024, offering a dynamic platform for discussing key issues such as GNSS resilience, sensor fusion, space-based PNT, and cybersecurity threats like jamming and spoofing. With technical sessions, industry exhibitions, and networking opportunities—including the much-loved Sydney Harbour Cruise—PNT2026 will provide a forum for shaping the future of PNT technologies and infrastructure.
